Trekked into this lazy little village today. Stopped at the church to rest, say thank you and please, and inside was the largest conch (shell) - which is also the symbol each peregrino carries on his/her pack to represent our outer shell on this Camino and in life. This magnificient conch/shell was found in the 18th Century by a Franciscan priest in the Phillipeans (sp?) and brough here to the church in Spain. The holy water on my forehead seemed magical. This albergue ($10 euro per night) is beyond anything I have slept in this whole journey. I was suppossed to trek further but it's simply so beautiful there was no way I could not replenish my spirit here. Buen Camino! Kay From Kansas
